Creating Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting cancer patients. It is our mission to help them use creative expression to cope with cancer...inspiring them to survive each day. There will be over 2.1 million people diagnosed with cancer this year. Over 500,000 could die from the disease or not be able to survive the treatments. There are many types of cancer, but it is one disease in our eyes. A person who is diagnosed with cancer needs to find the inner strength to survive...not just the diagnosis, but the on-going ability to survive on a daily basis. It seems that cancer can touch so many lives...those that have it and those who live, work and love the patients that do. This is a time during which research is resulting in awareness, earlier diagnosis and better treatment options, however, more and more treatment centers and doctors are realizing that the medical treatment of cancer is only part of the path toward healing. Studies have found that creative expression is not only necessary in the healing process, but actually enriches the lives of women, men and children during one of the most stressful experiences of their lifetime. Creating Hope recognizes that there are many ways to help in the fight against cancer, but offering patients the opportunity to express themselves creatively can be both positive and inspiring.
